Co-host
How does cohosting work?
Cohosting is one of the best features of Youni. We’re all about bringing people together, and sharing in extraordinary experiences and extracurricular activities.
Cohosting works very similarly to collaborating on Instagram posts. One main account posts, and sends collab (or in our case cohost) requests to others. The event is published straight away, and the cohosts then join once they accept. They will be notified in app and can either accept or reject. Once accepted, you’ll both appear on the event as organisers, and your respective followers will both be notified about the new event!
There’s always a “main” organiser to any cohosted event. They’re the ones that set the event up and share it to cohosts. They are also the ones who we will transfer money to, if it’s a paid event. It’s up to you lovely people to sort payment splits after the event, so make sure you’ve agreed how you’re gonna do that if you’re sharing revenue.
In addition, only cohosts can edit the event. You can all see the details in manage event, the stats etc, but only cohosts can make edits / cancel the event etc.
If you didn’t select to cohost before publishing the event, that’s totally chill! Head to manage event, and hit “Add cohosts” - you’ll be able to add them even after the event is published.

How do I cohost with another University society (varsity-type-beat)
When creating the event, or in manage event once the event is published, you can invite cohosts. This will search through all our organisers, including organisers in different communities. So it works just the same as normal cohosting.
When it comes to the actual event itself, if the cohost from a different uni accepts, that event will now be visible in both your portal and that of your cohosts. It’s a great way to run varsity events, and allows your attendees to have a sneak peak at one another before getting down to the event itself - we love cross university flirting xoxo
